How much can I make as a real estate agent?

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (commonly called BLS), the median annual wage of real estate brokers was $54,910 in May 2010.  The median annual wage of real estate sales agents was $40,030 in May 2010. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $20,460, and the top 10 percent earned more than $95,220. 

What are job outlooks for real estate agents?

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Employment of real estate brokers and sales agents is expected to grow 11 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations.

Employment of real estate brokers and agents will grow as the real estate market rebounds from the recent economic recession.


 
What is a real estate agents job description?

Rent, buy, or sell property for clients. Perform duties, such as study property listings, interview prospective clients, accompany clients to property site, discuss conditions of sale, and draw up real estate contracts. Includes agents who represent buyer.


What is a REALTOR®? 

A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.  REALTORS® are pledged to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
